Mastering the Sloped Microblading Needle: Technique & Precision
This article guides semi-permanent makeup professionals on the correct technique for using sloped microblading needles. We'll address common challenges and ensure you achieve precise, natural-looking results every time. Proper needle handling is crucial for client safety and achieving optimal brow design.
Understanding Sloped Microblading Needles
Sloped microblading needles, unlike traditional flat needles, offer a unique angle for creating hair-like strokes. This angle allows for more control and depth penetration, crucial for mimicking natural hair growth. Choosing the right needle configuration depends on the desired hair stroke thickness and client's skin type.
Proper Needle Handling and Insertion
Holding the microblading pen correctly is paramount. Maintain a light, consistent hand to avoid over-insertion and scarring. The slope of the needle should always be angled at approximately 45 degrees to the skin's surface. This angle ensures the pigment is deposited evenly and superficially, creating realistic hair strokes. Avoid pushing too hard; instead, rely on the needle's natural glide.
Achieving Depth and Precision with the Sloped Needle
Depth control is key when using a sloped microblading needle. Too shallow, and the pigment fades quickly; too deep, and the risk of scarring increases. Aim for superficial insertion, focusing on creating individual hair strokes rather than solid lines. Practice on synthetic skin to master this delicate balance.
Addressing Common Challenges with Sloped Needles
* Uneven Strokes: This often results from inconsistent pressure or angle. Practice maintaining a constant hand and needle angle.
* Bleeding: This can indicate excessive pressure or improper needle depth. Reduce pressure and ensure superficial insertion.
* Poor Pigment Retention: This may be due to using the wrong needle for the skin type or insufficient depth. Adjust your technique and needle configuration accordingly.
Advanced Techniques: Utilizing Different Needle Configurations
Different sloped microblading needles have varying numbers of needles and configurations (e.g., 7-14 needles). Experiment with different configurations to find what suits your style and client's needs. Thicker needles are suitable for bolder strokes, while finer ones are ideal for delicate work.
Maintaining Hygiene and Safety
Always prioritize hygiene. Sterilize your needles and equipment properly before and after each procedure to prevent cross-contamination. Follow all relevant health and safety regulations.

Lash Glue
Can the lifting glue also be used for eyebrows lifting?
Yes, our eyelash lifting glue is safe, gentle, non-irritating and can be used in direct contact with the skin, so it can also be used for eyebrow lifting projects.
With this very sticky glue, will the lashes fall off when I use the perm lotion?
Our glue is very sticky and after drying it holds the lashes very firmly to the lash silicone perm rod. Although our glue is water-soluble and can be easily cleaned with water, since there is not much water in the perm lotion, there is not enough water in it to dissolve the glue, so there is no chance that the lashes will not stick to the silicone perm rod and fall off after using the perm lotion. The same goes for Neutralizers too.
Tattoo pigment
Will the pigments turn red, orange, blue, or purple when deposited into the skin?
They won't. Because we use high-quality ingredients and focus on color balance, lightfastness, and pigment concentration, our shades only lighten slightly as they heal. They will never change color.
Eyelash curling
How do I choose the right silicone perm rod?
We recommend that you choose the right silicone perm rod based on the length of your eyelashes and the shape of your eyes. Here are some tips for choosing silicone perm rod:
- Short eyelashes 4-6mm: S for curling, M for natural curling, and M1 for slight curling.
- Medium and long eyelashes 6-8mm: M for curling, M1 for natural curling, M2 for slight curling.
- Long eyelashes 8-10mm: M1 for curling, M2 for natural curling, L for slight curling.
- Extra long eyelashes 10-12mm: M2 for curling, L for natural curling
Perm and dyeing kit
How do I make eyelash lift and tint at the same time?
1. Clean the eyelashes and skin around the eyes with clean water and cotton pads.
2. Apply glue to the back of the silicone perm rod and stick it on the upper eyelid. After the silicone perm rod is fixed on the eyelid, cover the lower eyelashes with the eye patch.
3. Apply glue to the surface of the silicone perm rod, use a Y-shaped brush or a separate tool to stick the eyelashes on the silicone perm rod, and comb the eyelashes straight to ensure that the eyelashes do not overlap. After the glue dries and fixes the position of the eyelashes, proceed to the next step.
4. Apply the perm agent to the eyelashes to soften the eyelashes, cover with plastic wrap, and wait for 8 to 10 minutes.
5. Remove the perm agent, apply the neutralizer to shape the eyelashes, cover with plastic wrap, and wait for 8 to 10 minutes
6. Mix dye and developer in a 1:1 ratio.
7. Remove the neutralizer, use a small brush to apply dye evenly on eyelashes, wait for the appropriate time (usually 10-15 minutes) to allow the dye to fully color.
8. Clean the eyelashes and residual glue with a detergent, and remove the silicone perm rod and eye patch.
9. Apply Collagen conditioner to nourish the eyelashes, and you're done!
