Comprehensive Aftercare Guide for Semi-Permanent Makeup
Semi-permanent makeup offers a convenient solution for enhancing facial features, but proper aftercare is crucial to ensure optimal healing and longevity of the results. This guide addresses common concerns and provides expert advice on caring for your semi-permanent makeup post-procedure.
1. How Should I Clean My Semi-Permanent Makeup?
After your procedure, it's essential to keep the treated area clean to prevent infection and promote healing. Here's how:
First Day: Gently clean the area with a damp cotton pad, avoiding direct water exposure. Do this every hour to prevent blood or lymph buildup.
Subsequent Days: Continue gentle cleansing in the morning and evening. Avoid using soap or cleansers on the treated area for at least a week.
Moisturizing: Apply a thin layer of the recommended aftercare ointment to keep the area moisturized. Avoid overapplying to prevent a greasy appearance.
2. What Activities Should I Avoid During the Healing Process?
Certain activities can interfere with healing and affect the final appearance of your semi-permanent makeup:
Water Exposure: Avoid getting the treated area wet for at least a week. This includes swimming, hot tubs, and saunas.
Sun Exposure: Protect the treated area from direct sunlight and tanning beds for at least two weeks to prevent pigment fading.
Physical Activity: Refrain from intense exercise and activities that cause excessive sweating for the first week to prevent pigment loss.
Makeup Application: Avoid applying makeup to the treated area for at least a week to reduce the risk of infection.
3. How Long Does the Healing Process Take?
Healing times can vary, but generally:
Initial Healing: The treated area may appear darker immediately after the procedure. Pigments usually scab after 3-5 days. Do not pick, rub, or cleanse the area with soap or cleanser for one week. Allow the scab to flake off naturally.
Color Lightening: It's normal for colors to fade up to 60% in the first week. The true color will emerge as healing progresses.
Final Results: Complete healing and settling of pigment can take up to 4-6 weeks.
4. What Should I Do if I Experience Itching or Flaking?
Mild itching and flaking are common during the healing process:
Itching: Resist the urge to scratch or pick at the treated area to prevent scarring and pigment loss.
Flaking: Allow scabs and flakes to fall off naturally. Picking can disrupt the healing process and affect the final appearance.
5. When Should I Schedule a Touch-Up Appointment?
Touch-up appointments are essential to achieve the desired results:
Timing: A complimentary touch-up is recommended only after 4-6 weeks.
Purpose: Touch-ups allow for adjustments to color and shape, ensuring the semi-permanent makeup meets your expectations.
6. How Can I Maintain the Longevity of My Semi-Permanent Makeup?
To prolong the life of your semi-permanent makeup:
Sun Protection: Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen on the treated area after healing to prevent pigment fading.
Avoid Harsh Products: Steer clear of products containing retinoids, AHA, BHA, chemical peels, and intense exfoliants on the treated area.
Regular Touch-Ups: Schedule annual touch-ups to maintain the vibrancy and shape of your semi-permanent makeup.
7. What Are the Risks of Not Following Aftercare Instructions?
Neglecting aftercare can lead to several complications:
Infection: Improper care increases the risk of bacterial infections, which can cause pain, swelling, and pigment loss.
Uneven Pigmentation: Failure to follow aftercare instructions can result in uneven pigmentation and unsatisfactory results.
Scarring: Picking or scratching the treated area can lead to scarring, affecting the final appearance of the semi-permanent makeup.
8. How Can I Ensure the Best Results from My Semi-Permanent Makeup?
To achieve optimal results:
Choose a Qualified Technician: Ensure your technician is certified and experienced in semi-permanent makeup procedures.
Follow Aftercare Instructions: Adhere strictly to the aftercare guidelines provided by your technician.

Eyelash lifting
If I apply perming lotion after using glue balm, will it cause the eyelashes to fall off the silicone perm rod?
Our glue balm have two formulas, regular formula and anti-falling formula. If you are used to using plastic wrap or covering strips during lash lifting, you can choose one of them; if you don’t use them during lash lifting, we recommend that you choose the anti-falling formula to ensure that after you use the perming lotion, the liquid in the perming lotion will not dissolve the glue balm, thus achieving the anti-falling effect.

Yes, some formulas contain the ingredient “Cysteamine”, then some contain the ingredient “Thioglycolic acid”.
